Key Moments of the Liberty Bill Project

May 26, 2005

Presentation to Secretary John Hager at the United States Department of Education in Washington, DC by 13 students.   We then lobbied the staff members of the Senate in the Russell, Dirksen, and Hart Buildings .  Then we met with Congressman Eric Cantor for a photo op.


June 7, 2005

Gubernatorial Candidates’ Tim Kaine and Jerry Kilgore send representatives to hear nearly 150 Liberty Bill students present the Liberty Bill in our school library.  Our aim is to have them include us in next year’s inauguration ceremonies. 


January 14, 2006

The Liberty Bill students march in Governor Tim Kaine’s inaugural parade in Williamsburg, Virginia , holding up banners and reciting the abridged Constitution as they go.


February 14, 2006

Twenty students meet with Governor Kaine the Patrick Henry Building in Richmond, Virginia to present and discuss the Liberty Bill.  During their time at the Capitol, the students also meet with State Senator Ryan McDougle and a representative from Delegate Frank Hargrove’s office.
