A Venn Diagram is used to compare and contrast various items or ideas. It helps students to create a visual picture of how items are alike and different. This tool can be used by a group, an entire classroom, or by an individual.

How to use

this strategy:

Above the first circle, write the name of one of the items to compare. Above the second circle, write the name of the second item to compare. In the outer portions of each circle, contrast how each item is different from the other. In the inner portion of the circles, where they overlap, compare how the items are similar.
