this strategy:

When students need a greater understanding of a word or idea.

To connect words or ideas to other areas of learning.

Visual/graphic organizer to increase retention.

Use Concept of Definition to define the math term "factors."

Use Concept of Definition to define the characteristics of "amphibians."

How to use

this strategy:

The key to using Concept of Definition maps is to model for students how to use the tool. Once students understand, they can easily use this tool on their own. Students can use words, phrases, or sentences to complete the tool. Students should not be required to complete this task on all 20 vocabulary words. This is a tool used to target a few key words that students should know in depth.
